Pick up the pace and get to know the city

The Athanasios Ktorides Foundation within the context of the Nicosia Quantum Marathon, a charitable celebration of sports, will be holding the established Sports and Culture Week, starting on 3 December, leading up to the party at the launch of the Marathon on 11 December in front of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.

On December 3 and 4, in the area under Eleftheria Square, which will be properly configured, six gyms will be voluntarily supporting the event from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm presenting a number of group fitness classes.

Les Mills Cyprus, the Cyprus Gym Owners Association and Alter Life will be presenting group fitness classes, open to anyone who wishes to participate. At the same time the public will be able to buy sports products from the market which will be located in the area.

On Sunday December 4th starting at 9am, people wanting to get to know the capital a little bit better, can join us for an easy run through the city’s narrow streets. There will also be a walking group for those who prefer to walk it. We will be passing by the town’s Venetian Walls, by old churches, artist’s studios, museums, galleries and a section of the Green Line, covering a total of 6 to 7 kilometres.

In addition to the aforementioned, on Friday 8/12 at 5:00pm runners will have the opportunity to participate in a Shakeout Run, offered by Go Running Tours Nicosia, starting from the Nicosia Municipal Theatre (Mikis Theodorakis Street), getting a first small taste of the Marathon route. They will also have the opportunity to spend some time in the adjacent park with their families, and to meet other runners.

Finally, it should be noted that on the day of the Marathon, in the park next to the Municipal theatre, with the help of the Municipality of Nicosia, a festive Charity Village will be set up offering joy to everyone, regardless of their age.
