The history of Michalis Stivaros portrays the true love of Cypriots for freedom and this is the ideal we want to instil in the coming generations. That was the spark that motivated the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation to erect this monument as a constant reminder to us all.
On the mountain top overlooking Pedoulas, the village where Michalis took his first steps, a wonderful monument has been erected. It is a monument worthy of the heroism of all Cypriots who fought in the Balkan Wars. The monument looks out to Bizani, the fort which Michalis defended with his life.
